Enjoy your Destiny is an exhibition that directly faces the works placed in the nine waiting rooms at the AZ Zeno hospital in Knokke. In the hospital, the four elements (earth, water, fire and air) were chosen as the concept for the long-term, site-specific works in the nine waiting rooms. They have been entirely refurbished in a spirit of entertainment, in order to divert the patient’s attention from their difficult situation, faced with their individual suffering. In a sense I am inviting the patient to enter into the nature of our planet, sometimes by proposing microscopic beauty. Two rooms contain texts by Caroline Lamarche and Patrick Corillon, in the Cardiology / Pneumology / Diabetes / Gastrology and the Surgery / Orthopaedics / Urology rooms respectively.

In the Yoko Uhoda gallery, I presented the exhibition “Enjoy your Destiny”, whose concept was proposed like a metaphor: the next day, the day after the operation, the leaving day, life after the operation and I began with memories, the dream, somnolence, desire and the future. All of these states merged together in a narrative written on the walls of the gallery using mixed techniques. For the occasion, I had invited Caroline Lamarche, Patrick Corillon and Dominique Mathieu. I extend my thanks to them for their very beautiful texts and their readings of them.
